What makes Walton’s World special?

Walton's World is a unique high quality researched based pre-school enrichment program.  The curriculum enrichment program is designed to be used by preschools, home daycares, child care centers and homeschool families.  The curriculum focuses on the cognitive, social, and emotional development of children, while giving them the skill sets they need to excel in a traditional learning environment.

The specialized program focuses on simulated learning through travel to the seven continents of the world, where Walton takes children to a different country every month. During a month's study, children will learn the traditions and cultures of a particular country as well as literacy and mathematics skills. Children will gain invaluable learning skills, which will be the foundations for future cognitive growth and development, through games, crafts, cooking, imaginative adventure, and fun. Each game is designed to include all learning styles as well as the importance of mastering self-regulation skills such as taking turns and co-operative play. Our enrichment program follows the guidelines set out by NCTM (National Council of Teachers on Mathematics) and NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children).

Where does Walton go?

Walton travels to a different country every month. For each continent we pick an exciting country and bring it to life through videos, music, books, crafts and recipes. Once each continent is visited we return to the first continent and explore a different country. With 195 countries to visit, Walton and your students will indeed be world travelers.

What is the craft kit?

Our objective is to keep it simple for you by providing unique items necessary for the craft portions of our lesson plans, that would not ordinarily be in your classroom or home.  We have bundled these unique craft items in neat packages, with enough supplies for 10 children. Conversely, some items that are perishable, inexpensive and easily available (eg. flour, jell-o, playdough, finger paint, construction paper, crayons etc) we assumed you would prefer to provide yourself.

What tools do I need to teach the Walton's World program?

Manipulatives and tools to teach our specially designed curriculum are for purchase on our website under the merchandise section.  We realize that lots of classrooms already have access to most of our manipulatives, but we have put them on our website for your conveinience.  For those schools needing a bit more, we have put together lower priced bundles so that you can get everything you need to teach our curriculum.  Some items needed for the lesson plans are everyday items that you should be able to find in your classroom or homes.  These items (that we do not sell) are highlighted on the lesson plans under the materials section.

How did you pick books for your curriculum?

A panel of early learning experts met to choose each book to address a specific learning concept included in each four-week period. The books also reflect a range of authors, styles, diversity, illustrators, print and cultures. This supports the international nature of our business and exposes the child to a wide range of print experiences.

How is diversity supported?

By visiting the continents of the World we embrace the differences in cultures, denominations, families and in every child recognizing each as unique.
